Herberger Theater Center (Stage West) |
In 1964 mock-rock band Hub Kapp (Pat McMahon) and The Wheels premiered on The Wallace & Ladmo Show--an iconic children’s television show that ran in Arizona for 35 years. The band became an over-night sensation. So big, it threatened to destroy the kid’s show that launched it. But this is more than a story of the rise and fall of a one-hit wonder band spawned from a kid's TV show in little back water 1964 Phoenix, Arizona; it is a story about the measure of success in our own lives. What is “the big time”? How much success do you need to be happy? How important are friendship and loyalty in our lives?
